Please note that the course cost is separate from registration costs.
This diagnostic testing is used to identify a student’s current skill level so we can place them appropriately in the right summer course level.
It’s also important to understand that assigned grade level and skill level are not the same thing. A student’s skill level is based on performance on the diagnostic test, not only their current grade placement, so students receive instruction at the level where they’ll grow most.

Word Quest Explorers is a supportive, skill-building summer literacy course designed for students in skill levels aligned with grades 1–3 who demonstrate low decoding skills (note: skill level is not the same as grade level). This course focuses on strengthening foundational reading skills through clear, explicit instruction and structured, confidence-building practice.
Throughout the course, students build the essential literacy foundations needed for reading success. Instruction is systematic, paced carefully, and designed to help students practice skills step by step. Students review and practice core concepts, including:
