Vocab Morph Lab is an engaging after-school learning group designed for students in grades 4–9 who want to strengthen vocabulary, decoding, and reading comprehension through structured word study.
The focus of this course is morphology—the study of word structure—using Greek and Latin prefixes, suffixes, and roots. By understanding how words are built, students can independently unlock the meanings of new words.
Rather than memorizing word lists in isolation, students analyze word parts, recognize patterns, and apply strategies that improve reading accuracy and comprehension across subjects.
